Iris gives Rock a smile. "Thank you for helping with the stuffed animals, Rock." She giggles and adds, "Zero and my brother were a bit competitive at the carnival games."
He smiles back. Now that they aren't talking about anything serious, things can go back to being fun. Even if it is just for now. "Like I said, it's no problem. And I noticed. Actually, a lot of people noticed."
Colonel starts to say something, but a glance from Iris makes him reconsider it. She tries to look around a stuffed bunny to see if they're still headed in the right direction to reach where they've been staying.
"I believe it was still undecided," Iris says with a giggle.
"No, it's all right," Iris says. "We're here." They'd reached a row of rented duplexes. Iris had just needed to get a better look for a moment to make sure she headed for the right door.
A door that posed its own problems when one has their arms full of plushies. She's glad the door uses passcodes instead of old fashioned keys, despite the buildings looking like they were from the last century by her universe's standards. Pressing the buttons or opening the door, though, could be tricky without dropping anything.
Rock lets out a laugh. "I think we've run into another problem. Here, just give me the rest. I bet I can keep them balanced long enough to at least get the door open."
"Though I have seen a guy try to open a door with his foot if you want to try that, hehehe."
Iris reluctantly piles more plushies on Rock, leaving herself with only a few that she can hold onto and fre up a hand to open the door. Then she'll take back the plushie overload.
The duplex they're renting is kept very neat and clean, though there is a slight conflict of styles. Colonel habitually keeps things neat, with an almost military severity and simplicity.
While Iris? Iris is just one of those people who puts doilies on things...
Though he smiles at the living space, Rock doesn't say anything about the style conflict. It kind of reminded him of the way Roll had to have things clean while he left things a mess, only coexisting.
"So where should I put these?" He half wondered if Iris would try to spread them around like the dolls.
"I think we can put them on the couch, until I find places for them," Iris says. Which indicates that, yes, they are going to end up all over the place.
((Doilies, not dolls. :3 Am I the only person that remembers those? Crochet lace things, usually placed on tables or chair/couch arms? Usually indicates a person that also likes lace trimmed curtains and decorates in pastels? Very, y'know, girly. XD))
Iris and Colonel are placing their own loads of plushies on the couch when an enthusiastic brown terrier mutt darts in from one of the other rooms. The dog gives Iris a few happy licks ad then sniffs curiously at Rock. It has a bow on it. Poor dog.
"Oh, that's Coco. Isn't she sweet? Someone was trying to find homes for some dogs in the Nexus, and since we'd already moved after brother's LOL and had some of the supplies to take care of one... well, I couldn't have just left and not done something to help."
"She is. Someone would have to have something against dogs not to like her." He laughs at the hand lickings and tries to pet Coco and scratch behind her ears.

"But, how?" He could still ask questions, right? They could simply not answer if they needed to keep it secret.
