THNMY: After the Carnival (For Rock)

Zero's finally left, and Iris is weighted down with an enormous armload of plushies - even though her brother is helping with some of the load.

"She is. Someone would have to have something against dogs not to like her." He laughs at the hand lickings and tries to pet Coco and scratch behind her ears.

Coco wags her tail so much at this that her whole rear end wriggles.

Iris, meanwhile, tries to find places for some of the plushies.

Rock's easily distracted by the wriggly puppy and will probably play with it as long as he can.

Wriggly puppy is happy to be played with.

"Would you like some tea, Rock?" Iris asks after a few moments.

"Oh, I wouldn't want to be any trouble."

"It wouldn't be any trouble at all," Iris says, and gives him a smile as she goes to put the water on. And possibly put a few plushies away.

Colonel just gives the pile of plushies a slightly embarrassed look.

And Coco? Still squirming and being a happy-lovey pup.

"Well, okay."

Rock lets himself get knocked over by the puppy so it can 'win.'

Looking up at Colonel from the floor, Rock giggles. "You might have to invest in a plush net."

And Coco will give him licks to the face.

Colonel, though, just blinks. "Plush net?" Had Rock meant plush met maybe? Colonel was almost certain there actually was a plushy metool in the pile.

He laughs and shields his face.

"Yeah, it's this little net that hangs in the corner of a room, up by the ceiling, and you can pile plushies in it. Or other toys..... Maybe it was called a toy net." Rock's not quite sure, but he can always ask Roll later.

Coco is not deterred, and will lick hands and anything else in the general facial area that she can reach instead.

Colonel nods. "I'll see if I can find one. Thank you for the suggestion." That would be a lot better than having them all over the place.

Rock lets out a squeak and another laugh at Coco's licking.

"No- hehehe- no problem!"

After a while, Coco seems to decide that Rock has been thoroughly licked, and lays down next to him with her head on his chest as if guarding her 'new toy'.

Rock doesn't mind that he's become Coco's new toy and just lies there, petting the puppy.

Coco just lays there and wags her tail.

And Iris returns with a tray with tea, teapot, teacups and saucers, sugar, cream, lemon, and an assortment of those little shortbread tea cookies. She'll take that over to the living room coffee table.

He should probably get up then. But there was a puppy on him. But it'd be rude to continue to lay here.... Ah well, Coco would have to forgive him.

"Sorry, Coco. You'll have to go without a pillow for a while."

Coco lets him up wit a slight whine - and then a happy yip as she realizes she'll be able to claim lap space!

Iris giggles at this. "Coco really likes you, Rock."

"I seem to get this reaction from most animals. Don't know why," he grins sheepishly. "Not that I'm complaining, of course."

Iris smiles as she pours them all some tea. "I think it means you're a nice person. Animals know these things."

Now Rock just looks embarrassed; he'd probably be blushing if he could. "Um, thanks." He only adds sugar to his, but it's a lot of sugar.

"You're welcome." She's a little surprised at the amount of sugar, but politely does not mention it. However, she'll discreetly nudge the plate of cookies a little closer to Rock.

Rock can be a little sugar fiend if you let him be. A cookie soon gets nabbed then nibbled between sips of tea. "These are good."

"Thank, you, Rock," Iris smiles at that, though she knows they're not as good as the ones Roll makes. These were storebought at one of the better tea shops in the Nexus Mall, so they're good cookies. But they're not homemade, and nothing compares to that.

"Rock mentioned something called a 'toy net' for storing some of the others," Colonel suggests, glancing over at the remaining pile of plushes.

Nothing could beat Roll's cooking in Rock's mind anyway, but other things were still good. "Welcome."

"Yeah, my Roll has one for the number of plush animals she's collected and it works well for keeping them out of the way without packing them up."

"Oh, that sounds like it would be very helpful. Thank you for the suggestion, Rock. I.. had thought of perhaps finding some charity that would take some of them. There really are a few too many."

"Ah, that's a very good idea actually. I'm sure they'd find great homes that way."
